Wood oven cooking

Cranking up the fire
My Yummy pizza

Wood oven cooking was a fun day, as it was a very relaxed day and a really good catch up day. Our first job was to get the fire going, which we did. There is a way you can measure the fire which is to put your hand through the door and see if you can leave it there for five seconds if you can it is to can and if can't it is just right. Next we made the pizza bases these required five simple ingredients, wholegrain flour, plain flour, salt water and yeast. After that we had to let the dough raise for two hours.

Two hours later with pulled of bits of dough and rolled out the individual pizza bases. After that was gave them a quick cook to make them hard so the ingredients wouldn't fall off the sides. On mine i put tomato paste, lots of cheese, oil and Italian herbs. We cooked them for 8-12 minutes depending on size, it was really good.

While we were cooking them Dale put on a piece of bread, which cooked for an hour but we some butter it was well worth the wait. Last was the roast lamb which we put on for 3 hours and we put it on at 3. The veggies took 2 hours to cook so we put them on at 4. We had dinner at 6 and it was really, really good and well worth the wait. Our veggies were just cooked and the lamb we really good. It was really funny as the other group brunt their veggies to a crisp.
